New York's Fashion Week

Also Known As the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week .

The New York Fashion Week is a semi annual event held in February and September of each year in NYC. It is one of the most important fashion weeks with those in London, Milan and of course Paris.

The first Fashion Week held in NYC in 1943 (it was then called the Press Week) was the world's first organised fashion week. At first, this event was created to take people's attention away from the french fashion during the second world war.

Every year, they are about 232 000 attendees at the two NY fashion weeks. This fashion week accounts more than 466 million dollars. Visitors spend and contribute to 1.6 billion dollars to annual tax revenue of NY's fashion industry.

It is a major event for every designers, wether they are famous or unknown. Fashion shows are attended by editors, fashion journalists (The famous Anna Wintour redactor-in-chief of Vogue Magasine for example), editors, buyers, celebrities ...
